Buggy is tucked away in the garage, still full of sand from thrashing in some secret spot in the dunes. I tried to hose it out when we got home, but the hose was frozen. It was COLD that day! The seats won't even move, there's sand everywhere@!

thanks b. I Should have the parts I need already, just need the time to get it done.

PS, your clutch should be 200mm ( aka 12V) while these cars are smaller 180mm ( 6V).

With everyone back to school and summer over, there is some slight upside; I get to sneak back into the garage at night.

The 63 has been the fair weather driver for a few years, but not without its minor issues. I burn through a battery once a year ( either a bad charge or slight draw) and has needed a clutch forever. Swapped the battery with other a few times, always reverts. Never really play with it, and always have a jump pack with me JIC. Clutch wasn’t horrible but slipped on the big end if I got her hot. Exhaust was a little loud, as the muffler had a little hole in it.

Stated by pulling the motor, haven’t touched this one in years, if ever…….
The bell housing was soaked so yanked the flywheel and replaced the front main seal with German orange.

Installed the new disc; Old one was toast, and really wet.

Hit both the pressure plate and flywheel with a light whizzer disc. TO bearing was quiet and looked good.
Rear tranny mounts were good, so left them as is and put the new mounts back into inventory.
I had a 40hp Abrath muffler that was slated for this car, but turns out it was a stale air muffler, so I had to use a stock muffler I had laying around. Ordered some flared tips as I hate the beetle ‘ whistle’

Yanked the shroud, gen and stand. Swapped over the backing plate and fan to new 75amp Alternator. Moved over the oil filler neck, installed the new stand, with gasket and diverter, and reassembled it all.

Replaced the fuel line and filter while I was in there.
Pulled all the plugs and cleaned them each. ¾ side valve cover was leaking too, so knocked that out. Put the motor back in Sat night.

Finally, dumped the oil, douched the screen, new gaskets and after I adjusted the clutch cable she was good to go. Before I let her down off the lift, adjusted the front brakes ( one wheel was dragging), and greased the front end.

Next up, needs rear axle boots, driver side pan, sort out some electrical gremlins.

Nice! I'm in a similar mode on weekends getting ready for Manx on the Banx. Last weekend was a valve adjustment, new points (never messed with points before, believe it or not), condenser, plugs and wires, still have the punch list I started with too. It's amazing how a little love on these cars makes such a big difference.
