68 beetle class project
Well we got a nice starter project thanks to Brad. So far we have cleared a space for it in the garage, removed all interior things including seats and headliner. We have started to remove the wiring harness and wire wheel all attachments between body and heater channels. After break the plan is to soak all body mounting bolts, finish removing harness, gas tank and motor. Then trying to unbolt the body. I Sam starting to accumulate parts that I will need for the build as I find them. So far I bought Dansk channels, ghia disc brake spindles and new seat covers from TMI. Good thing we are in no rush because this may take a while!! I will try to post some picks after the new year.

Getting her all cleaned up. May bead blast or wire wheel trouble spots. Then it’s on to metal fab.

Re: 68 beetle class project
I added a couple of more pics of the 68 on Instagram.
@libayrat just wrapping up the Napoleon hat repair. Using 1/8” hand bent plate for the bottom frame head plate. The Brazilian Napoleon hat is shit, 1/2 the thickness of og. Hopefully the 1/8” plate under it more than compensates for it.the kids liked the plasma cutter and I let them try to weld, although I had to take over the welding. I will leave them weld on scraps in future for now. Next up, building 2” narrowed front end.
