Re: Hey...
Swapped tires on the front of the buggy today, they're take offs from my wife's Villager. They're bigger than I want, but they hold air and I already had them waiting in the wings. The old ones were on the donor bug when I got it in 2002. Left front was holding up but showing some rot, right front was going flat every 2 weeks. It was past time.
Reminds me- Will hubcaps from a 70 Beetle held on by bumps on the rim work with older wide 5 rims with clips? I'd like to run the hubcaps from the donor but don't want to get them on there then not be able to get them back off. Anybody know? I've ground off the old broken clips but don't want to get replacements if they won't work.

Been playing with motors all week. The 1600 and the 1500. Both need a rebuild. Not sure which one I want to do first.

Still having withdrawals from having to say goodbye to warm weather but still have a few things to button up before the big chill!!
My goal over the winter is to try and get some of the rust spots cut out and replaced!

Re: Hey...
The ferrous kind?
No but really...
What are you repairing?
Is it more feasible to buy a new panel?

Re: Hey...
I sold my red beetle and the guy paid in full - now I just need him to get his transport here to pick it up. He is from Oklahoma (why he wanted this car is beyond me, he has 6 bugs and claims to have owned over 300). I made a few hundred on the car but just want it outta my driveway so I can get a little work done on the '71 before it gets too cold out. Pretty much all I think I'll do is remove the rear fenders to see what hiding underneath

Re: Hey...
I just spoke with him for about an hour - really nice guy but you can tell he doesn't know if he can trust me. Actually I said flat out - the car you are buying is exactly the car I advertised - no better and as far as I know not worse. I hope there are no hidden problems but I was literally as honest as I could be...I would say almost too honest hahaEDNCAROL wrote:Mark keep that guys info in a safe place!
