Having lived in West Islip for ten years I can say these people don't give a shit how they drive as long as they get we're their going ahead of any one else. And they park worse than they drive. I've had 5 cars hit in parking lots in West Islip. One woman in a custom van side swiped Carol's escort and wanted to know if the damage was already there. My yellow turbo N/B hit and run 08 Chevy Aveo hit and left but left a note with a real phone #. 06 Chevy Trailblazer hit by some old guy who didn't even know he hit it.And most recently the 04 N/B vert hit by a Massapequaen woman driving a Routan van at the VW dealer. So Glenn don't ride your bike in West Islip! Make it 6 I forgot older daughter's 04 neon hit in 7 eleven parking lot.

Wow, that's crazy! Sure they might not want to pay any money to add bike lanes or anything like that but to say that no one should ride a bike or motorcycle in Suffolk is insane. I know that at least 50% of the people I know own a bike, luckily they set up bike lanes near where I live.

This should prob be circulated to the media ( news 12 and the like) to help raise awareness of how this guys handles things. Voters should be aware of the truth.

A bunch of local bicycle and motorcycle forums are already discussing.

Good to see a car forum so concerned with 2 wheeled rights!

Love this. Its great too see how these guys try to cover their tracks and take the political approach; Deny everything and admit nothing.
Gotta love it.

I saw that too. The sad reality is that this guy had poor intentions of neglecting a serious issue that was presented to him. He (as he said) let his PERSONAL (vindictive) OPINION get in the way of a greater good that affects HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of Long Islanders (if not more considering that most of the world has or still uses bikes if even just for recreation) who bicycle regularly.
He will let off some generic form written lame apology and this kid's efforts, letters and emotional upheaval will all be for naught.
I hope the bicycling enthusiasts really unite to push this issue.
