Sooooo I'm guessing some 3X3's and new rear meats are in order ? NICE ! Once that is done We can get the measurements for the wider lifted beam ! Oh yea and dust off those thing spindles !

I'd love to rock the thing spindles but I dont know if I can use them with the ghia disk brakes. Its a toss up. I might just invest in lifted BJ spindles for the nose.

So shes on the road. Needs to get an inspection on Sat, from one of ' my boys'. ( no mirrors on it yet... maybe ever)
I have one of Keith ( from TS). Idles great but misses alittle upon throttle. I'm working on that.
Anywho.... I had brand new grey KYB up front on this thing. Too soft.... the nose dives every time I slow down or stop. And then the tries rub. I dont wanna F up the fenders any more than there are. so..... I wen to the parts mahal and located a set of coil over BJ shocks. They are a bit longer too, so it fixes the issue I was having with the greys limiting my downward motion. The adjuster are maxed out on the beam, so this is form the stock stuff.

Keep working at it and it gets done!!
Re: 69 baja
Had a strange noise in the rear the other day. Turns out the rear drum was loose and wouldnt tighten any more because the outer bearing fell apart.

Thanks to a prompt response to a fellow DVGer.... German FAG part arrived the next day.

New seal

Brakes came apart and went back together real easy since they were all only 3 months old.

Took her for a drive.... much better!

nope. Normally I would, but I plan on upgrading the suspension to 3 x3 rear arms eventually, so I 'll replace them all when I do that. Time to too precious right now to be dicking around, and the focus is the 65.

Did this little project last week or so.
Off with the old, on with the other old one. I'll run this exhaust until the tri mil stinger arrives.

Re: 69 baja
Took her for a ride this am to OBI. No problems. I was surprised... she did well.

Got home at 930 am and changed the oil while she was hot. Went to pull it in the street.... and it stalled. Fired again... stalled. Weird. The number 2 rule for a ACVW should be, that if it stalls... dont restart it. Check the fuel hoses first. Why, you ask... bc when they fall off or fail... it usually results in fire. Well.... mine fell off in my route from my drive way to the street. Very odd.... and I'm very thankful the big guy was watching me at that point. If it would have happened any of the 30 mile before.... instant fire.
Changed the filter, and the hoses..... good to go. whew.
