Tom, you just have to turn the gas up more to make up for the breeze you get from being outside. I have mine set at 20 cfh. (Basically what Glenn said)

After I posted up my update I went back and finished up the welding. Still needs to be ground down, but the tape has been replaced with molten steel! The dim light from the barn makes it look darn near finished, now I just have to translate that look to the light of day. Ah, summer time and the living's easy.

Yep, the sale is off. I only had till last monday, and I didn't find a buyer.

I'm not going to be at Litchfield this year, but if it was a fun as E-town, I'll be sorry I missed it. I'm headed to Rochester to spend some quality time with my dad. Maybe I'll drag him down next year to meet the DVG.

I move in this Thursday, and I'll most likely be traveling up to ROC Wednesday.

As for the bus, I really don't know. I guess it will be parked in the barn until I have a spare weekend to lay down a tarp and get it winterized. As much as I'd like to take the bus to college, the salt, large parking lots and no place to store it or work on it, coupled with people who want to "hot box" it, and a mother who feels uneasy when I drive it to town, are keeping it at home. Many people my age aren't really into the Vintage VW scene, and until I get a feel for the campus, the panel's unfortunately stuck at home.

I'm kind of sad to be leaving HE, and really missed out on a lot of opportunities to work on the bus and do just about everything I find entertaining due to my hand injury. A couple of months ago, all I wanted to do was get out, but this summer I realized how great I have it. A Bus, some forest, not a lot of noise. I'd prefer to live life like a retiree than a freshman! All in all, I'll adjust. I just wish I had a little more time to take care of things at home. I know my Mom's going to fall apart; two kids are going off and all of our lives are going to drastically change. I'm even going to have to live with two other guys. My entire life I've lived with women! Oh Boy! Lets hope the other guys don't wear AXE... My eyes... Can't breath...

But, hey! It's an exciting new time in my life! Maybe the thawing snow, along with bringing spring, will bring a bus to the parking lot of the Spaulding Quadrangle. We'll see.

You'll be fine Will. Its the next step in this crazy thing we call life. Study hard, then work hard... then play hard.

I'm really glad to have found a great group of friends in the hobby, I had no idea it was going to be like this when I signed up. Totally blew my expectations!

And don't worry, AoT and Mike. There's no way in hell I'd forget you guys as I go off into the "big city" that is UB. This group is so much more than a club, it's a whole otha' family!

Well, off I go to pack. I have fresh tires and tubes on the Schwinn and a bunch of new roads that are soon to be mine!

Finally arrived back in the Eddy. Bus started up on the fourth try, but it still started up!

Over the semester I picked up a "big" piece to the Panel puzzle. Tomorrow should shed some light on the subject, stayed tuned...

Here are some body work photos I never posted up. The campout forced me to spray it over with some paint and the pinky injury finished me off for the summer, but here is where I left off.







Still need to sand it down and apply a few more coats of various putties.



One last question, directed toward Glenn (GR). What's the best method, if any, for preventing condensation within the distributor?

Will take a look on singlewheel.com. I was on there and saw some scanned in images of your rack. I'm away from my PC right now but it isn't very hard to find. It is a cataloge page with different style racks and prices from back in the day. Let me know if you can't find it.

Here it is. I got a cab divider from 66ratrod on TS, finally had time to slap it in the bus.

First I had to clean up the exploded soda cans from the campout. I never fully unpacked, man that was messy!













The noise level while the engine's running is much more quiet and it keeps the heat up front. Yay!

Next on the list is a set of commercial gray interior panels from Clara - should have those in by the end of next summer. Yep, I plan way ahead!
