We (GA at my req) actually took tabs off... They were the tabs for the bar-mounted spare tire holder, which I wasnt a huge fan of. It looked anachronistic, and like it was a second thought. The bar looks cool on the bus, Itll look cooler when its no longer bare metal. That being said, it will be painted for now, at least untill my world stops spinning, I have a few more important things to fare with than getting the bar powdered. I like the clean look, sans lights or anything, but since its just going to be painted for now, it wont take much to add on tabs down the line if I decide to.

Thanks again GA for the work, the mount job is great! It proved in strength when I rubbed the bottom on a stop block in the lot today. Didnt realize how low down the bar is compared to how it used to be! haha

You can't see it from the drivers perch either. It might take some getting used to. I couldn't imagine driving around with a tire hanging on the front of that brush guard.
If you find some lights you like I could put some mounts on there for you. I also have some expanded metal mesh if you want to go for the all out Mad max look.

Now you got to find a Kangaroo to test it on. Perhaps a quick ride through Busch gardens safari would be a good testing ground. It's on the way to Winterjam.

Mike, now you have to take it offroad and get it scratched up. Otherwise you're the same as all the Soccer Mom's and their SUVs with chrome brush guards that never leave the pavement.

NO they are not.

It is my understanding that there is one Bay that has been grandfathered in.

no bay windows last I checked, but no one is stopping anyone from having a bay window trailbash, those trails are open to the public during the summer months.

Start off with a HUGE thanks to Glenn R, Glenn A (with clan), BusBQBill, and John for their help, company, and laughs shared during what was a trying night for myself and Peabody, especially in light of another VW-Bus'ers recent nightmares.

While leaving the BusBQ tonight, I felt a faint hesitation when in first gear, I assumed it was likely operator error (or my foot slipping from the metal pedal) and continued into 2nd gear. Mid-range second, I again felt a now more discernible hesitation, which quickly became a stalling as my foot encroached upon the half throttle point. I took my foot off the pedal, and as usual, Peabody reared back up and sounded healthy as usual. I completed my turn onto Lido Blvd, only to have the same series play out before me again. First gear, hesitation, second gear, stalling. I eased my four-wheeled friend to the side of the road, and made my way to the slider to get out (yes, Ill be the first one to say it...) my fire extinguisher. I opened the decklid prepared for disaster but found only that the bus looked normal. I noticed during this time that a mechanical 'motor running' sound, like that of a dremel, or perhaps the starter motor was running constantly. I thought perhaps the fuel injection/fuel pump. I pushed my bus to a side street, and began to rally the DVG roadside crew. I got AAA started out and tried to pop start the bus with GA, to no success. There was no improvement when we turned the key, no crank, no start, nothing. Ogden's towing showed up with a flatbed, and the driver, the same one who pulled the charred remains of another LI bus from the highway just a short while ago, loaded the bus onto the truck. Peabody is now over in the land of GT. Ill keep you all posted :

Sorry Mike I wish I could offer you more help or better a remedy to you problem.
Hopefully it is something simple.
Connor was talking a mile a minute as your bay passed us on the flatbed. For some reason he gets a kick out of seeing a vehicle he can relate to being towed.

Do you have an electric fuel pump ?

Glad you and Peabody got safely through this and hope you will be back on the road lickity split!!

Maybe its something with the ocean air since that where the wonder crapped out on me as well with similiar symptoms!!

According to Dubstar "ocean air" and regular inland air are the exact same thing. So if that theory is correct it couldn't be the problem.
