where was the plate? it should be bolted to the metal fresh air tube beneath the dash on the drivers side...

It was where you say it is John, I read somewhere it was behind the seat. I stand corrected, lol.
Trans went in today. Bill made it over here around 9am. The bus was already on the driveway, and ready for us to dig in. Pretty much as soon as Bill got out of his car we got to unpacking his tools and got the bus in the air. Bill went to work disconnecting the underside, and I worked up top labeling wires, and disconnecting. We had the engine down within Id say an hour to an hour and a half. Was pretty much smooth sailing throughout. The new trans went in smooth, we replaced the trans mounts, and obv the clutch TO bearing, and pressure plate. Raj, Audrey and Ken came by and helped a ton, we were all busy. Bill even fixed a vacuum leak I had. Ed stopped by before work to say hey, and got to experiance the bus's maiden voyage with the new trans. When we did get the bus back on the ground it was about 5. Not only did it run, but it drives superbly. Smooth in all gears, no more hop, no more clutch chatter. Its perfect.
Thanks to everyone who helped. I really mean it, you guys saved me.

So with every triumph comes travesty right?
Was driving to, and more notably from school this evening when the back end of the bus began to make a 'hesitating' feeling. This feeling came on only while in 4th gear, between 57 and 60 MPH, and it should also be noted that it occurred only while under power, not while coasting. I noticed the closer to 60 I got, the more frequently the hesitating occurred, and only by my releasing the gas pedal did it stop. The tach was NOT affected by the hesitation, which felt like a bump initially, but in its progression felt more and more like the transmission was slipping from its gear, and quickly back into gear.
I got out, and looked under the bus, and found only a bit of grease sling from where AoT got a little lube happy, but otherwise saw nothing of concern. In neutral I ran the bus upto 3400RPM, (which is generally my shift point) and got no hesitation from the engine, which sounds healthier than ever (I had a bit of a major vacuum leak) The clutch feels great, and the rest of the gears, including 4th upto 55-56ish run great. Is there something I should do to check into this more? I really dont feel like having to bother Bill into coming here a third time to help me pull this fucking thing apart again.

Might have a shorted flux capacitor inside the tranny

I think a vacuum leak or bad connection to one of the injectors.
Remember, you did pull the engine and the the wires and hoses could of got bumped.

GR, would a vacuum or disconected line only cause the symptoms between specific speeds? The bus runs and idles great outside the 57-60 range.
