After discussing it with the Jet-Hot rep, she told me the satin black has a textured finish. I told her that all VWs leak a little and I can cleanup the mufflers with some parts cleaner and mag polish. I can't do that with the black, it's just soap and water. So any oil, grease and road grim might get caught by the texture and not come off.
So.... i'm staying silver.

I've always had to use a 2x10 to drive the rear wheels over to pull the car in nose first..... not any more.
I'm stoked.
Backed in.. 4" clearance.

This would have been reason alone to revamp the driveway. Glad you a plus option on the project.

Sorry, you must put at least 1000 miles per year on your VW to stay a member of this club. You are banished.

I drive 30k a year. I got my Civic 4.5 years ago with 106k and it now has 235k. It was no different with my Beetle. i had 100k by the end of 1978. I rebuild the original engine in 1980 after the case cracked behind #3 with 160k.
circa 1978 with the "Jew-fro" (it was a windy day)

I pulled the cover off, connected the battery and it fired right up. I took it for a drive and everything is working. It's nice to step on the gas and have the car accelerate vs doing so in the Honda and waiting for it to go.
It's back on the road.
So now i'm off for a ride.... on the bike.

Back on the road.
I took the cover off and it started right up. Just a short ride to make sure everything works and it's ready for the season.

A new low..... 96 miles this year.
Decided to adjust the valves and change the oil even though it's been way less than 3000 miles.
