He has lived a very courageous and remarkable life. Makes me grateful for what I have.

Hopefully it's not over.
Hard to believe he could forgive the person that shot him. And he's been a inspiration for everyone around him.

Three days out of prison and the shooter gets ran over by a car three blocks from where the shooting took place.Karmas something special. I hope he pulls through and has many good years ahead.

I just watched the 2 hour coverage of the funeral, thanks WPIX, and I lost count how many times i got teary.
A truly man of peace and love and a inspiration to everyone.
He will be missed.

Southern State To Officially Be Renamed For Det. Steven McDonald
The governor signed the bill into law on Thursday, renaming a large portion of the highway for the beloved Long Island officer.
The Southern State will be officially renamed from the interchange of the Belt Parkway and the Cross Island Parkway in the west to Exit 22 in the east. The renamed portion of the road will pass through Malverne, where McDonald lived with his family until his death in January.
