Busy day

Post by Glenn »

Spent the day helping Toby. One project was to build a work bench. It's the same design as the one in my work shop.

Just glad he still has 10 fingers after using power tools for the first time.

Cool. One of the first things I was excited about when we got the house. Nice to have a place (mine's in my garage) to putz around with no one bothering you. Next thing to get is the big tool chest

He's got a mortgage to pay first.

I just got home after spending 48 hours there helping him painting the garage. Only problem is the walls were 18 year old bare sheetrock and the garage is 20x25x12. It took 5 gallons of primer and 3 gallons of color and 15 hours for the 2 of us to do it.

We also put up 4 bike hooks, built a bench on the stair landing and bought materials for a few other project including a 4'x8' hanging platform for over the workbench we built a few months ago.

I'm just too old for real manual labor.

That was your mistake, you should be using primer sealer on unpainted sheetrock, not primer.

Could of been. It's his project and he selected all the paint. Originally he only bought 2 gallons of primer and we used 5. I told him to tell the store that it's 18 year old bare sheetrock.

Next project... loft storage. It's 4x8 so now he can get all the seasonal stuff off the floor.

Which my garage was this nit. I'd put in a 4 post lift... like his next door neighbor.
