Skin is probably too thin. Sutures, while not as quick and easy, allow the practitioner to apply a more "intentional" amount of pull/tension on the suture and the skin. More control to bring it together with less risk of tearing.

Using a mandolin to cut a cucumber, i circumcised 2 of my fingers. They bled like a stuck pig. Ken would be proud.
