Very cool John. At this point it seems you have filled in all the stray holes in the bus with cool accessories. It's possibly the bus may have look close to that back in the day. Are there any other holes you plan to bolt cool stuff too?

Ken take it easy with the Kudos Ken, You can't just go throwing Kudos around all willie nillie. Check out the use of two different screws. Unless that was done to add texture to the Photo it looks like a short cut to me ( I'm an expert at shortcuts).

GA... thats actually set up like that as a theft deterrent. It would take longer for someone to grab the reverse switch now bc he/ she would have to have a both a flathead and phillips head screwdriver. Its all part of BusBQ's master plan. He knows that the bus frequents Brooklyn and does want any one swiping John's setup.

ha ha...the location of the heater tube made the second screw difficult, so a self-tapping screw was installed on an angle...it's very solid

I never comented on the device. It was the workmanship that was at fault. And I didn't say "so cool" I said "real cool".

continuing from the 3rd brake light thread...

straightening the bracket:

bending the bracket:

adding ground wire:

essentials:

red tape used for lens...looks fairly good, but might redo it or look for an actual red lens:

I think it came out pretty well, but I lost the daylight and rushed at the end...consequently, I have a few issues and things to clean up tomorrow...

1) bracket needs to be bent back a bit more, as well as fit a bit tighter

2) the red tape has a few micro rips...redo and look for real red lens

3) I thought I was tapping into the main brake line, but I must have read the diagram incorrectly, as the 3rd light now blinks when the left flasher is engaged...this actually looks OK and definitely catches your attention...however, I'm not sure if it is legal, and I would have to tape both brake lights so it flashes L and R if I keep it this way

4) related to #3 and the previous conversation, where should I be tapping into the brake wiring to prevent this? I though the main wire went into the left then over to the right, but I obviously got that wrong...at first, I couldn't get the new light to work and switched the wiring over to the right side, thinking it might be a wiring or ground issue...turns out to have been a loose bulb, but I might have tested the flasher when wired to the right and not the left...anyway, suggestions welcome, as well as detail of how the relay mike offered would work...I'll also go back to the bentley and the samba threads

5) it also seems that my brake lights are engaging late...can the switch be adjusted, or does this require that a new one be installed? there's a few threads I can check on this...also need someone to drive behind me

thanks

John, in order for the 3rd brakelamp not to flash you would have to run a wire all the way from the front where it leaves the brake light switch and goes to the directional switch, or you can get the electronic module that will prevent it from flashing..

Maybe, but Trailer City in Hempstead will have it.

Or you can buy it online.

The light def gets my attention John.

I also have the same issue with the brake light engaging late so I picked up some switches at Etown and will replace to see if that helps.
Keep working at it and it gets done!!

Tthe trailer light converters are used on cars with seperatet turn and brake bulbs. I had to install one in the JSW.
I'm not sure if it would work for you. You bus lights allready work just like a trailer would
