Nice. Spread a little filler you should be ready for paint right when it warms up outside.
I see a trophy in your future!

Thanks GA... but keep in mind i have tons of trophies, and will continue to have more as long as no more than 2 other cars show up in my class.

progress is slow..... but sundays are far and few between.
Old rot on DS B post
straight cut on top
cut out the bottom on top of factory flange
only using OG thing metal ( donor door)
inner brace reinforcement
welded in
tried an alternate approach with adding metal behind the patch
addressing the thin spot on the top side with metal from behind
tacked in
grinded smooth, I'll clean this up as time permits

This is dedication to a cause. Time & materials added up over the course of the project, might it be cheaper to buy a pristine thing? Maybe, but where's the sense of accomplishment in that? THIS is priceless, and not everyone gets it.
Keep hitting it!

Right on Charlie! There's a certain sense of enjoying the fruits of your labors... and it ranges all facets of your life. Its starts in academia with getting good grades in school; professionally as you slowly move up the ladder; at home when your sheetrock is pin straight; with your family, as your kid says 'please' and ' thank you'; all the way to recreationally with this hobby, as you sip a frosty beverage in your driveway as you wash down your baby in the summer sun, or simply take an early morning cruise to OBI at 6am on a sunday morning with a tall cup o' joe.
Its the little things Charile. Knowing your hard work got you to where you are.... as you said, priceless.

I made a patch panel for the rotted area in front of the Drivers Side Door
this is the 'problem area'
grinded down - I made a L bracket here to reconnect the two interesection section, but no pics... sorry.
donor door used for many of the repairs
new patch
tacked in
Maintaining the stock looking seam was critical.
tada. looks decent. Nothing a little filler can't fix.

Raj you are doing a splendid job on this ride. It should look tight when it is done. I'm pretty sure you have a raised beam in stock. Any plans to put that in this car?
