Good info in that thread. I ordered the washers they were talking about. Bag of 100, I'll have plenty if anyone needs.

Now I have to find that double washer that connects every 2 bolts, there were none on mine, I never knew they had them. Also ordered new bolts from BD.

They most likely fell off.

Hey Rob, which washers did you order ? I did the CV boot on the passenger side last winter and I was under the bus last week and saw the drivers side is ripped. This is a messy job that I don't look forward to.

Well, it's that time I guess.

After checking out the spark plug hole it's been decided that head is fubar. So new heads it is. Got the heads off, let's deal with that sticky lifter. Might as well check out the pistons, etc as well. So probably a top rebuild is in the cards. Might as well change the exhaust too.


Fu#k. Didn't plan on this. But, that's the way it usually happens. So hopefully it'll be ready for the start of camp/show season.


Mike, what exhaust did you go with? Are you happy with it?

I've kinda been ignoring the camper mostly because there hasn't been anywhere to go, it's been hot as hell and I've been playing with the Cabrio.

But, it's inspection time so it got a new wheel bearing, finally got that annoying tail light rewired and some little odds and ends, so she's all happy and back on the road. Fixed my annoying hatch issue where it wouldn't stay latched, just needed to be removed and cleaned. I still can't figure out that engine whistle sound. It has to be something internal, so I guess I'll eventually find out

The body is just a mess. I don't know what to do about it. I should have punted a few years ago, but Gemma loves it and I'm lazy. I think I may just patch and fill some of the holes and go from there. Her show days are over. Replacing the door panels as the ones I made are falling apart. Gemma wants to replace the curtains, so there's that.

Hopefully we can find a few weekends to enjoy it a little. Taking it to CT on Saturday to pick up an old stereo console. First long trip since last year so let's see how it goes.

It's alway 90* by the middle of the day. I usually leave by 2:00pm.

Okay, maybe my main point was the ferry, driving through the city sucks .

PS Also I’m not psychotic and remember the temperature of everyplace I go.

I find the bus to be very comfortable in the heat while cruising except for extreme traffic. Ever drive to Florida in the middle of winter with beetle heat in a bus. Hahaha that's more of an issue than the summer.
