Re: Kyle's '76 Westy
Thanks everyone! Next up I'm learning how to replace the clutch cable and clutch sleeve with Mike. Then I'm toying with the idea of reupholstering. I just don't want to start something that's going to take me forever since work started up again full time. I might hold off until the fall when I won't be driving the bus quite as much and can take my time doing it, not quite sure yet

The clutch cable and sleeve are easy - I had to do my cable in the Home Depot parking lot! LOL
I however, cannot sew - and knowing your plans for your seats, you're on your own!

Re: Kyle's '76 Westy
Went down to help Kyle out with his clutch cable, everything came apart pretty easy except for the nut that the PO put on the threaded end of the cable. He used a square nut, and it was stripped and useless. Cut the cable out and got the new one installed in short order. Since he was missing the wing nut, we went to ACE and picked one up. Got everything adjusted and first step on the pedal the threads let go on the ACE wing nut. I assume they were just too soft to bear the pressure on the clutch arm. I know I have one around here somewhere, but thankfully Raj has one too. Rather than fight with boxes and crates of crap I'll swing by tomorrow and grab it. Hope to have this thing back together fast. Also, hoping the wing nut didn't damage the threads on the cable.
More later.
More later.

Thank you Raj!! You're a savior haha. Otherwise my bus would have been a nice driveway ornament until I was able to order the right piece
