Sleeping in the beetle's trunk wasnt bad at all matter of factly, Id do it again without hesitation... Sleeping even in the seats front, or back of the Fusion was the most uncomfortable thing EVER. Ill likely still be bringing the beetle to shows like Campbelltown, Litchfield, Terryville, and Flanders... seeing as other than break-down I dont mind the tent. Ive invested SO much in the beetle, it is my show car. The camper will surely come out, but Id rather have the bug at the "big" shows.
Rob, wat kind of awning to you have?

Wow I was really surprised to read about your newest family member. Looking at the pics the bus looks super sweet and to be in very nice condition. The color is perfect. The interior does not look worn.Looking forward to seeing it when you get it.Lots of luck !!!!!!!!!!!

BTW Mike I have a bay window adjustable beam with disk brakes . So just let Me know We you want to do the old slamaroo ! We can give that Bay the right attitude .

To lower the rear you can toss one of those "boxes" in the back.

If you are going, Im going... Im new to the whole bus/van/camper scene, minus my stent with my Vanagon, so I dont wanna go alone where Ill know noone... But will happily go if you/other DVGers are.
Was this sage green a real popular color????

Seems so. Yeah, I'm definitely going, been there the past few years. My samba buddy the sage will be there in HIS sage bay also.

hey mike i wen to see the one by hicksville high,no one was home so i droped one of my fameous notes,looking for a project to do with my son,or wow i had one of those back in the 80s ,is it for sale lol hey you never know

Rob Ill head down with you guys. You all stay in the busses right? Do you go to a camp ground or just stay in the parking lot? I look forward to going itll be a blast. We'll be the sage green caravan lol

I know I read somewhere you were not allowed to camp at CTS . I thought maybe it was some sort of town ordinance that you couldnt sleep in your vehicle . Maybe tents weren't allowed ?
Anyway I guess i was wrong . I'm going to try to attend with My trailer .

GA, I saw that, but I thought the circle of those 3 green bays was part of CTS. Green grass is not pavement in front of a shoppe... lol

The picture of the busses was just a picture, not at CTS. The first CTS picture I posted is where we sleep, in the street by the shop that runs the show, about 3 miles from the site of the actual show.

My TS hunt led me to a current auction on Ebay, and this 77 Bay from CO. After some to-do with the shop its at, I cut a deal and met the owner half way on our difference in price. He fixed the reserve and 3 hours later I won my new camper. The van has been repaitned, has an aux. gas heater, sink, ice box, and all the screens, mattresses, and hammoks. The multidudes of pictures sent show a very nice humble bus, that Im excited to spend my summers in. I dont plan on it being a daily driver, I plan on it being a weekend get-away. I look forward to Busses by the duck, and impromptu trips to Indian Island, Pennsylvania, out east, and overnights down at cedar beach. Those of you who have campers/trailers too... I hope we get to share the summer with them.
So how bout it? Who wants to come to Colorado?

But seriously, its waiting for the shipper to come, hopefully you'll see it at Kirsch's this month.
Currently it's in CO, awaiting the shipper.
All it needs is an awning and a side tent...
I might pick up a used stove set up for it too... buy a new LP tank and cut in a stove into the top counter... we'll see...

Mike hope it runs as good as it looks!
Theres a 74 over in Hicksville off old country rd on the north side by lipa/ key span what ever they call themselves nowadays. The bus started right up the day I went to look at it. The inside was all there but so was the rust on the outside. The dude was pretty cool but asking way too much at the time. Just wondering if it's the same bus.
