found site postimg.org seems better/easier then photo bucket. so i changed my fuel pump 2 weeks ago Image and figured id change the oil Image and while changing the oil i found my oil leak https://s20.postimg.org/6elq62sx9/20170723_155519.jpg[/img] so i think ill try torqueing the heads /resetting the valve adjustment and dropping the timing and redoing the carb adjustment

Are you going to torque the heads for a reason or just S and G's ?

Be aware that the head bolts are known to pull out of the cases on these old motors then you are in a world of hurt. Ask me how I know ...

Okay, didn't know that was you.

If it is leaking from the base of the jugs I doubt that tightening will stop it, the sealer is compromised between the jugs and the case. (Permagasket type sealer) As I said before unless it's a hideous leak I don't think I would risk it but that's just me because when I tried to fix my leak I ended up buying a motor.

i think 23 foot pounds should not break anything but i will eat crow if it does. ive also read that loose head bolts let the jugs go up and down and pound the case leading to engine damage. 23 foot pounds or bust
