You could call it "Upstate camp out of the Downstate chapter"

Neat pictures and some good history. Seems like you having a great time working on this project and I can appreciate the "learning as you go". Been on that road for a few months myself, except I've got lots more to be taught!

Keep going...!

So I put in the new generator brushes today and fired the bus up. It seemed to idle pretty bad and kept on stalling, and had this big flat spot when you pressed the gas. It started to rain so I went inside. After dinner I went outside and hooked up the jumper cables (my battery is fried!) and nothing happened. I went back, fiddled with the cables, saw a couple of sparks, started it up and it purred just like a kitten. Guess it just had to adjust to being used. With the Bus running I pulled it out of the barn and out back. The bus is now mobile!

Wohoo! Drove the bus around Hale Eddy today after changing the battery that's been in there since 2003 (Still had paint over spray on it). During the drive I did a little brake warm up/break in. They're not half bad. I'll post pics of it on the road tomorrow when it stops raining here in ever-beautiful upstate NY.

Quite a day. Took the bus to the laundry mat, recycling center, my sister's field hockey game, then to dinner. The first big drive on the new brakes! Worked like a charm. Here's some pictures to satisfy your everyday Volkswagen needs.

Camping went O.K
Got down to 34 degrees last night. To say the least camping was short lived, but the bus was darn comfy!
At 2:00 in the morning I woke up to my Mom trying to open the door, saying "I can't take it!"
So we loaded up and drove home, which is another story in itself. Have you ever driven a Volkswagen with almost zero visibility and shaking from the cold waiting for stock heat to kick in? It's Great!
Some Pics from the short lived camping adventure!

How many peeps were at that campout? The fire looks huge and there are a ton of folks standin around it. Looks cool. 34 degrees!?! You got to give your Mom a break! I was chilly at flanders and it was in the 40s.

There were probably 40 or so people at the party. 20th reunion for a far near by.

Often times one gets an urge to spruce up their Volkswagen. Whether it be new tires, a nice wash and wax - but for me it's painting logos. Tonight I captured the dream, and I bring you "Fresh Eggs!" I'll eventually sand them off once I get closer to paint, but as of now, I'm just having way to much fun!

I also prepped and primered one of my cargo doors. But that's not important right now.
