TX Charlie!
Thanks Audrey.... Im hoping the whole Fam Damily is there! Fingers are crossed!
Matt,
Garaj is still in the works.... Going on almost 2 years with the back and forth with the town, but lets just say, good things come to those who wait. Id like to pour the concrete before the dead of winter, but at this point, Im realistically looking at Spring.

Checked shed and came up empty handed on the antenna. I did find a bunch of other crap I forgot I had. Anyone need a cardboard glovebox with the gas door lever & hood latch(1970)?

Found antenna, but I don't think it's what you're looking for. It came off the 70 beetle I cut up years ago. Pics in a few.

I was the one talking about Retrosound before. I didn't get one with a CD player, just their Model 1 in all black. I got it at a bit of a discount versus the chrome ones, which was fine with me. But it Raj definitely got a good deal with what he has.
I also got the Retrosound dual voice coil speaker, which so far I'm really happy with:

This car is awesome, Raj. *Thumbs up*

Dumped the oil last night and need to correct the oil filler, as the one that's on there is cut up.
Meanwhile, the stripping of the 3 layers of paint is painful. Its a shame the PO sanded down the OG paint, some places are down to metal. Im using a razor blade on the roof...... I need to get the pace. pressure and angle correct to not gouge the metal. Def not easy, but its getting there.......
front cowl
rear roof
sample finished product, scrapped, 2500 wet, 3500 wet, 5000 wet, polished by hand, waxed by hand. Im going to get some power tools to make this process faster and outcome better.

How come? He and the wife even went to rubys and the girl scout light show in it afterwards. He had a blast in his first of hopefully many acvw journeys.

The 63 is coming along. I'm not super thrilled with whats under the 'paint' but I'll make due until time comes available for respray. I have been driving the crap outta it thought. Its been running super awesome...until this morning. I went to take her to work and she had a real rough start. As we went to get coffee, she was couching, sputtering, and carrying on like no other..... hmmm..... might not like the cold ( was 28 this am).
But her back in the driveway.... will tinker with it tonight before the meeting. Maybe she will behave better.

Inside of the cap looked like $hit. Cleaned up the terminals with my dremel and wire brush....shes golden. That will work until I toss in a 'correct' 40hp dizzy or an 019.
One weird thing tho... shes hates the cold! She's runs like crap until she is warm. Im going to check out the choke to see whats going on

Hello Raj
Impressive work,
I have 2 distributors that I don't use that may fit your 40Hp (they came with the 1200 40HP I bought to replace mine) but I'm still using my old 010 so I have not use except sell them or help you
Will take a picture this week end of the distributor or the number for reference

Ran some errand this morning with it. What a day! Washed some of the fleet and got to wash away all the residual paint scrapings.

I have been busy installing a new patio door on the house so havnt had too much time for the bug.
The bug is still running good tho. She still hates the cold, and I'll have to play with that as time permits. Gave her some love this past weekend.
got the rear bumper spacers off TS, painted flat black with EW rust encapsulator
painted the inside of the bumper black
battery has been iffy lately, and had to resort to the emergency jump pack for help a few times more than i liked. Got a new battery with 3 year replacement.
finished product with 'new' bumperette, vintage NYS plates, plate frame bling
this damn exhaust tip inner just wont jump! F'in thing is rattling around like crazy. Be warned all you tailgaters!
