LOOKING GOOD!
was there an issue with the axles or are they just getting done as a preventative measure?

No, mine use a M8 Triple Square where yours used a M8 Allen.
I ordered a new Allen bit.

Braved new territory yesterday, the emergency brake cables. the one on the bus were not working. the existing cables were either stretched or damaged because when you pulled the lever there was no grab. This hose (there are 2) seems to be a PO attempt at some type of wiring harness, and not a very good one. It is all bend and taped.
Got the wheels off and gave everything a PB catalyst spray since it was a long time since someone looked at these things. got the cables released on the front side.
Took alot of gyrating and dancing with the vise grip to get the cables off the backing plate. These puppies didn't want to go!
Then I sense victory in the air. They budged and got them released. I had to cut the cables under the cab side of the cable guide since the PO had somehow gotten the toggle on the outside of the stablizer bar and it seemed easier to do that than try and wrestle them through.
Remains of the disconnect.
Thought I was home free at this point and had gotten out the lithium grease to send them back through, but then the curve ball came. the toggle on the new cables does not fit into the cable guide. It is a fixed piece and it doesn't slide in or through. I am going to try a little filing to trim them unless someone has a better idea.
To be continued....
PS - GR, my neighbor Ralph was back again and said you were a very nice man!!

Got the emergency brakes installed. Shaved the toggle and the end that goes into the tube on thr grinder. Took a few hits but got them to fit. Just have to connect at the lever.
Also got the new accel cable run. It didn't like the uphill turn behind the tranny but slow and steady got it done. Think today is the greasiest i've ever been and i haven't even removed the old axle grease. Picking up the rebuild axles tomorrow.

picked up the axles today, all nice and clean.
Got them installed, just need to tighten the bolts once the wheels touch the ground.
For those who haven't seen the under side of my bus, the PO had used garden hose to run some wires back to the engine which made a mess. I traced the wires, one set stopped dead under the front bumper and the other wires ran up to the dash to some type of green light. Neither were usable and not original so today I cut them out. Lightened the load and big difference in the engine compartment! There was about 100 feet of wires in these hoses. glad they're gone!

This was a good day to do some work, looks good! I assume the filing did the trick for those cables?

I am very envious of your IRS setup! So much easier than this swingaxle and RGB stuff. I should have just converted mine to IRS.

No treatment on the bell housing, its au natural!
In the process of redoing the rear brakes and the retaining clip on the rear of the emergency brake lever was no good. I went over to Colvin Motors and this nice gent took the time to research and found what I needed. 4 new horseshoe clips for $2.70. Just priced them on MMA and they were $2.99 each.
Sure pays to shop around!

getting back after a week down with a cold. worked on getting the brakes closer to being done. BusBBQ gave me a crash course on the DS on Monday but I had to remove them to put the correct emergency brake retaining clip on and then reinstall them. The PS i was on my own. I took the adjusting stars off and gave them a spin in the wire wheel, some grease and now they turn freely. Got the new shoes all setup and in place with the new cylinders and everything is snug.
i got the DS brake line run. still having an issue with the PS. the fitting at the soft line is seized and my efforts to get it go were moot. (Incurred pain but no blood for the carnage thread) i tried getting the other end of the soft line off as it goes over the tranny but no luck. I got the PS brake line shaped but have to figure out plan B.

Revisited the brake lines last night and with some better leverage and new attitude, I got the connection at the tranny to give up the hose. I was able to free up the other end by putting the one end in the vice and the threaded end in large vice grips and it gave way. The hose is fine and now I can finish the brake lines.
DS is finished.
Next to do is get them bled.
Also put the panel back on that covers the fuel tank and that took some navigating to get it to line up. Need some more patience to get the left sided screws but what else is new! Put a coat of primer and paint on to freshen it up!
Got the fixings to get the front seats recovered so the progress continues!

What's next?
Are the axle CV bolts tight? If not we should get them done and install the engine soon.

Once the brake lines are done and brakes bled and adjusted , I can get the wheels on and tighten the CV bolts tight, right now the wheels spin! Need to get the emergency brake connected at the front.
Got the new engine mounts! I am ready to get the engine back in so I will be needing some help!!

My fuel filler hose is needing replacement. I'm wondering if it's possible to get the firewall out with the engine in place... It's a bit tougher on Peabody, because of the damn gas heater... Having been in there more rent then I, what say you?

It would be one maddening experience say I along with every ounce of patience. Don't know how you would get any leverage to get the panel out intact. Is it attached with screws?

I was attaching the accelerator cable under the pedal last night and seems to be some pieces missing under the pedal. There is no return to get the pedal back into position once it is depressed. Found a repair kit online that I think I need to order.
anyone have any input on this?
Thanks.
