I can get the floor jack under my 74 and the front tires are smaller than the 145-15s.

Remember you have to split the difference between the two tires since it is the radiuos measurement and not the diameter that effects the height of the car!!AoT wrote:Got the wonder jacked up last night and did some tire rotation so I can get the 145's on. Keeping the tires that hold pressure the best. I stopped at the service station to have them put on the rims and they only got power back today so no go until Friday.
Wondering how much clearance I'll have with the lower profile tires since the sway bar is already low. I have to put the tire on a block of wood to get the jack under it.
Figure the new tires should bring it down maybe 2 inches.
You are a lucky man!!!Glenn wrote:I can get the floor jack under my 74 and the front tires are smaller than the 145-15s.

Thank you.Raj wrote:Glenn wrote:I can get the floor jack under my 74 and the front tires are smaller than the 145-15s.
thats bc you are god.
Is that like Pi=R squared?Brown wrote:AoT wrote:

First they do make jacks that have various different heights. Second I don't really consider your car lowered.Glenn wrote:I can get the floor jack under my 74 and the front tires are smaller than the 145-15s.
Pi R squared is circumference. Radious is just half of diameter.AoT wrote:Is that like Pi=R squared?Brown wrote:AoT wrote:

Get your tape measure ready to see how low can we go!!
Yep. 1985 file footage. Not lowered... just the way it should have come from the factory.Glenn wrote:True, the fender is only 1" above the tire and the bumper is only 3" lower than stock.
Well if you say so it must be trueGlenn A wrote:Yep. 1985 file footage. Not lowered... just the way it should have come from the factory.Glenn wrote:True, the fender is only 1" above the tire and the bumper is only 3" lower than stock.

Actaully Pi R squared is the area and 2 Pi R is the circumfrence...Glenn A wrote: Pi R squared is circumference. Radious is just half of diameter.
Ok, next meeting I am going to bring a pie so that we can see how this all works, apple or blueberry?Brown wrote:Actaully Pi R squared is the area and 2 Pi R is the circumfrence...Glenn A wrote: Pi R squared is circumference. Radious is just half of diameter.

Thanks, looking forward to getting back to it. I'm in the middle of renovating my bathroom so spackling and painting have been eating up my time this week. Just got it all primed tonight, tomorrow night is the ceiling and Th/Fr are the walls, then it's off to Flanders to relax!!Raj wrote:What a transformation she has taken. Looked great last night
Nice to back working on the wonder!!AoT wrote:Have been off my game this month redoing my bathroom and then the losing my hearing so I'm posting my punch this for the wonder this weekend to see how far I can get.
* reconfigure front headlights/high beams and adjust lamps - done, had the high beam connectors reversed and got the lamps adjusted
* install new front directional lamps, lost one of the metal covers on the way to Bagels by the Bay - done, put the news lens covers on and get them a polish
* check front DS tire, losing air. something in the rubber or the seal is bad - done, filled it with air and gave a spray of windex and saw that the bead was not tight. took it back to Tiretown and got it refit, no charge!!![]()
* try and get template made for install of new euro blade front bumper
Was on a roll so I bolted the front brackets onto the bumpers. Bought these stainless steel bumpers at Litchfield and was looking forward to getting them on. Needed to get a measurement to have a template made to have them mount onto the original chassis threads. Things were looking real good.
But I didn't know if I should laugh or cry when I realized "Houston we have a problem"!!
Not sure if reversing the brackets will work yet!
Will have to explore my options. Guess I took someone's word that they were the right fit. It's only half bad...
The rear seems like its doable but as usual there are some detours to navigate on this project.
With the cold weather around the corner, trying to make floor space in the garage. Put the roof rack on up hooks and them hooked the bumpers onto that since don't think they're be a go in 2011!
* finish the PS seat cover and install seat !! - have to see what tomorrow brings!!
