Raj Why does your "NEW" master have pieces of rubber brake line and cut off pieces of steel brake line already attached . By "NEW" I think you mean "NEW" to this car right ! I am Never going to drive in front of you ever again . I think you should start a thread about you brake maintance logic . This is going to be awsome !!
All kidding aside You a great guy and a great friend I just want to see you safe .
Glenn wrote:Glenn... Maybe he put them on to keep the paint off.
the new master came with small plastic threaded insert for the holes. I threw them in teh holes to keep the eastwood rust encaplislator ( new product for me, i'm trying it out) out of the holes. These are the kind of hole that you can run a tap thru after paint to keep the threads clean. And yes, its a new master. Also, the mater came with rubber hoses cut and already attached to the plastic fill parts. Why... no clue. I have the new blue german hose to connect the master to the fill.
So quick to judge from your living room.

i know. If one cant take a little constructive cristism from thier freinds ( aka ball breaking) then he/ she/ GR needs to find a new place to hang out.

its got good coverage, and isnt UV sensitive, but I didnt do my homework. I hate flat black!
Its paid for, so I'll do the suspension of the baja with it. I used por 15 in gloss black, back in teh day but it looks like shit bc of its uv sensitivity. It turned gay.... i mean gray.

Thats Why I hate that crap . My pal did his whole chassis and Wheel wells of His poncho and it turned flat and chalky gray . Uh now He has to sand that nasty toxic crap off and recoat it oh well live and learn .
i used rust bullet ( it think) on my 65... and that stuff was very nice. It stayed gloss black and hasent had any issues. Granted it is under the car and in a garage. I have a little left over, so I'll do the cage, and bumpers on the baja to see if it can with stand some abuse.

The POR 15 tells you that it is sensative to UV and that if it is going to be exposed it should be covered. THe pain is you need to cover it before it is completely dry although they do make a primer for it but i dont know if that goes on without any prep of if you have to sand it first.
Eastwood products rule! I used the rust encapsilator on my bug's floor pan (2 coats - on the inside). I also used it when I had the front beam out of my bus to paint over the surface rust on the under side of the floors after wire brushing. That's also where I got that pretty gay purple brake coating for my drums and calipers - they sell non-gay colors, too
so i helped our buddy carlos ( POS bug , not nice 64) move his parts 69 vert back to his house sat. Sunday I went over and he offered up his wiring harness, while he continued to look for the radiator in the car . I told him it was in the DS rear 1/4.
Its all going in here...!

WOW I'M IMPRESSED!!, that dude even as a tv in his garage, I wonder what it feels like to have a garage to work in?
Dude it's awesome ! I was in mine most of the day !
Raj your baja has the same extra rubber tube attached to the gas tank vent . Take a look at the pic . there is a metal pipe and some cloth hose on mine . Do you have a tank for the car . I am under the impresion that the gas tank may be a 68 69 one year type stuff .
all the fattys have the vent, i think. The 68 is the only one that has the metal line that runs across to the other side of the car. Look at the thing on wed, it has the same shit.

Raj I came across this baja pic while looking through some threads about RGB's ! This would be My dream baja . When I think Baja this is what pops into My head . Get a load of those front tires ! This car is hot !

The front tires? look at the size of those rear tires! That is the best looking example of a baja bug I have ever seen!
Nice pic GA. Very nice car. But I think I like the one in the reduction box thread better.
The rear tires are too big, unless the tranny is regeared to accommodate them. I have a 6 rib bus tranny waiting for mine that will accommodate the larger tire size.
Also... i dont like the lights on the fenders. The added weight of the light causes the fender to flex more. It ok if you have a real baja and dont care about paint, but best practice is mount them off the body.
