NY Window Tint in NYS

Here is the particulars for those who may not know the details, or have aftermarket tinted your windows with a new car in the last year. :D

Interesting..... My truck is up in this month and has aftermarket tint. Its old.... so has become very transparent. Lets see what happens.

Bill, you have any issues yet? Anyone else?

I know the inspection station GT uses checks front side windows but has not problem with rear side.

My friend does inspection for me he will pass me regardless, It is a $1000 dollar fine for the inspector for the first offense if caught passing a vehicle.. But its on my vw alltrack, and i decided not to tint the front side windows last year because i didnt want to get pulled over. The alltrack is considered a passenger car because of the ground hight, something like a tiny chevy trax is considered an suv because of ground hight and allowed to have rear tint, go figure, stupid rules..

i’ve found a few places that would pass me for the tint on the side windows, it’s the windshield that usually worries them :lol:
