2026 Site Update
Well, things are obviously quiet around here. The site's been through a bit the past few months with some hosting issues from Ionos - the hosting company we've had for 20 years. The site crashed about two months ago and we upgraded the database to a "performance" database out of fear it was getting too big - an issue we encountered around 2013. When that didn't fix the issue. I sat on it for a bit because I lacked motivation but decided to dig in today. I put us back to the old database - the non performance one and did a few updates. For now, it seems like we can get on and post. Only time will tell... Even if we don't post here much these days, I see no reason to shut it down. There's some good memories back there and at least they're "somewhere".

Re: 2026 Site Update
I'll look into it.
Something to consider is - unfortunately - PhPBB is open source and the development is done mostly by people who like to play and experiment. Stabile releases are made available a few times a year but with Facebook, and the reality that noone really programs php anymore; options, development, and outlook for boards like ours are limited. I know other sites still run it, but they have deeper pockets and better skills than I.
We'll keep it going as long as we can, maybe I'll get a freelancer from the PhPBB forums to come take a look at it and give me their outlook.
