Well the vote's in. For those saying that the reverse lockout plate was "reversed" that is the correct answer.Glenn A wrote: AoT needs to pull that shifter out and turn the reverse lockout plate around. It was difficult to to shift as is.
The peek as the shifter came off.

New location and I can feel the difference already. Ramp is to the right. Will give it a test run tomorrow!

Gotta love these easy fixes!
Keep working at it and it gets done!!

just be warned. Once you start seeing ' shade tree mechanic' fixes.... there may be more. Its nice to know you had the boys go over the brakes and engine

Easy tiger. I pulled a T handle shifter out of that car and tossed that shifter in. With no thought of ever driving it I guess I wasn't paying much attention to the lock out plate. HaaHa I'm laughing as I'm typing...I did the brakes too! good luck Audrey!Raj wrote:nice...

Re: AoT's White Wonder
Aot don't just zero in on one part of the assembly. The shaft and knob also like some attention. You will be much happier with the end result if You go over the whole package.
You may want to reach in down there and jiggle the rod around. To much side to side movement may indicate wear and tear.

Re: AoT's White Wonder
Going to investigate this in the am and see what's going on below the lockout plate. I'll have to order the bushing and clip if they look worn. If you're in the area give a holler to stop by and see what I've got!ObnoxiousBlue wrote:Aud, if you want a hand with this job, Id love to be the one to help you out. Re: AoT's White Wonder
The bushing felt good enough when was shifting gears. You might want to leave it for the Spring.

Re: AoT's White Wonder
Took off the shifter and lockout plate off today since I wanted to clean up and paint it. the bushng looked intact so we'll leave it alone for now. Took it for a few circles around the block and it is a big improvement from the other night. Working on the "butta"!Glenn wrote:The bushing felt good enough when was shifting gears.
