Re: 63 rag

I was the one talking about Retrosound before. I didn't get one with a CD player, just their Model 1 in all black. I got it at a bit of a discount versus the chrome ones, which was fine with me. But it Raj definitely got a good deal with what he has.

I also got the Retrosound dual voice coil ...

Absolutely-- if/when I get the time/space to address this stuff I'll definitely start posting like a normal poster here with photos and details. :)

As for these things, they are going to have to wait until after my, uhh, corporate deportation abroad this Q4. If my car's new home is ready by the ...

Re: Kermit- 1969 Peru Green Beetle

My dad was in town last weekend, so on Saturday we drove to check out the new house in CT my sister bought. It's big enough with tons of garage spaces, so I should be able to make a nice garage space with room to learn how to do my own work at some point. Once they clear out the mice/squirrels ...

I was biking in the area at around 10PM last night visiting my friend (long story...updating everyone in General Discussion) and I ran into this guy parked on the street.

Really nice overall!

Re: Kermit- 1969 Peru Green Beetle

Coming off this post in the fire prevention thread...

Separately, last week I finally installed and tested the temp-sensing dipstick: http://www.savemybug.com/index.htm

We'll see if any summer driving sets it off (not likely, but we'll see).

Yesterday and today I was driving my Beetle for ...

Re: Kermit- 1969 Peru Green Beetle

TheSamba link has the German link. It's in English now too and they take a simple credit card: http://automuseum.volkswagen.de/index.php?id=12&L=1

It's not cheap. But they do seem to be adding a lot more info. Plus the whole fancy presentation (the paper has a raised seal, watermark, etc). Plus the ...

Re: Kermit- 1969 Peru Green Beetle

I was in Wolfsburg last month and I decided to order a birth certificate for Kermit. I was Smurf's ~3rd owner, so I knew a few things about its history. But Kermit was a restored car with a rebuilt engine that has had at least 3 previous owners (probably more). It's probably had all sorts of things ...

Think we'll see this on Saturday?

The cat photo reminded me of a slightly off-topic question: what's the deal with the convertible? Glenn said it was in sorta rough shape when I came over, but it's also pretty rare.

I'm nervous now, the bus sounds so different, I keep shutting off the radio to hear the damn thing to make sure I'm not blowing anything up lol

It's like a real car now! I had this when I rented a stickshift Peugeot on my trip last month. You can barely hear these modern car ...

Not too often you see a windowless car on the LIE with a giant American flag on it.

Nice! The timing on all of this is pretty perfect. Wish this board had a thumbs up icon...

Thanks for the offer! At some point I may take you up on that. Though hopefully the shake-down period is over I don't need to head to GT anytime soon... :)
